The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the flight-test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket, marking a significant milestone in strengthening India's indigenous long-range precision strike capability.

The flight-test was carried out at the designated test range to validate the rocket's enhanced range, accuracy and guidance system under operational conditions. The rocket met all mission objectives, accurately engaging the designated target and demonstrating its precision strike capability.

The Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket is an upgraded version of the indigenous Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher system and has been developed to deliver greater range with high accuracy. Equipped with an advanced navigation, guidance and control system, the rocket is capable of engaging targets at extended distances, significantly enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Indian Armed Forces.

The successful trial validates the performance and reliability of the weapon system and marks another step towards self-reliance in defence technologies under the Government's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The achievement is expected to further strengthen India's indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem and enhance the firepower of the Armed Forces through advanced, precision-guided artillery capabilities.
