Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment Rameshwar Teli on Thursday inaugurated a 20-bed ESIC hospital and laid the foundation stone of a 100-bed ESIC hospital in Tinsukia, Assam. During the programme, he stressed the government's commitment to accelerate the development of other ESI projects in Assam to ensure easy access to medical services for insured workers and their dependents across the country.
ESIS Hospital in Tinsukia, established in 1982 as a 20-bed hospital under the ESI scheme of the state government, has recently been taken over by ESIC with plans to upgrade it to a 100-bed hospital. With a project cost of Rs 136 crore, this hospital aims to serve over 3 lakh ESI beneficiaries in areas like Dibrugarh, Majuli, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Golaghat and is equipped with modern medical facilities.
